Osprey Scarab 30L – Why I chose this backpack?

Although I’ve hiked most of my life, when I started getting back out more and to more places in 2018 I knew I needed a good backpack that was going to be comfortable on long hikes, big enough for extra layers and all the snacks I like to take.

After looking at many brands I finally decided on Osprey. The brand itself is widely known and has amazing reviews and when I started looking at different styles I could see why.

They are lightweight yet padded in all the right places. One of my favourite features of this brand is that they have waist and chest straps which makes weight distribution on hike so much better.

I had decided I wanted between a 26l and 30l for my day hikes and thats when I came across the Osprey Skarab 30l. This bag has so many pockets and it even comes with its own waterproof cover tucked into the bottom of the bag.
